THE PSYCHOLOGY OF NIGERIANS: This aspect of the lab aims to explore how tribal affiliation, religion and politics influence social interactions among Nigerian citizens. Nigeria is a diverse country with numerous ethnic groups and tribal identities, which can significantly impact interpersonal and intergroup relations. The lab seeks to understand how these affiliations affect behaviors, attitudes and perceptions within various social contexts. Additionally, the role of political affiliations and how they intersect with tribal and religious identities to shape social dynamics will be a key focus. By studying these factors, the lab aims to provide insights into the unique psychological landscape of Nigeria and contribute to the development of strategies for fostering social cohesion and reducing intergroup conflicts.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF RELIGION: This component focuses on the intricate ways in which religion influences individual and group behavior. We believe that religion is a multifaceted theme that plays a crucial role in shaping personal identities, values, and social norms. The lab will examine how religious beliefs and practices impact personality development, moral decision-making, and social interactions. By investigating the psychological underpinnings of religious behavior, the lab aims to uncover how religion contributes to social cohesion, conflict resolution, and intergroup relations. This research will also explore the role of religion in providing meaning and purpose in individuals' lives and its effects on psychological well-being.

THE SOCIAL PSYCHOL0OGY OF INTERGROU9P RELATIONS: This goal involves studying the psychological processes that govern interactions between different social groups, like race, and country. The lab will investigate factors such as prejudice, discrimination, stereotyping, and social identity, and how understanding the cause and consequences of intergroup conflict as well as strategies for promoting positive intergroup reconciliation. The goal of each research will have practical implications for addressing issues such as racism, xenophobia, and other forms of social division.
